The Textile Lab is a new workspace in South London designed for textile designers, material researchers, makers, and community-led businesses. Built for experimentation, collaboration, and growth, it’s equipped to support both early-stage ideas and established practices.

What’s inside

Dedicated Desks for £450pcm

We offer a limited number of desks for individuals and small teams working in textiles. Each desk is 2 meters long and comes with access to all Textile Lab equipment and communal areas.

Your desk includes access to a growing suite of professional tools and shared facilities, including:

    • Steam Iron & Ironing Board

    • Pattern cutting tools & cutting mats

    • UV Exposure Unit

    • Washout Booth

    • Dyeing equipment

    • Work Surfaces & Shared Facilities

    • Large shared cutting table

    • Textile reference library

    • Kitchenette & social space

    • Photography and event area for showcasing work (extra cost)

We’re more than a workspace. The Textile Lab is part of Blue Garage’s multidisciplinary ecosystem, connecting you with designers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and makers across different fields.

Support & Growth

Through workshops, peer-to-peer learning, and access to wider Blue Garage programming, residents are supported in developing their practice and growing sustainable businesses.

We also have a photography and event space to support your marketing and storytelling needs.
