The Metal Workshop at Blue Garage offers access to key metal fabrication tools for prototyping, art, hardware, product development, and repair. It’s designed for precision work and experimentation in steel, aluminium, and other metals, from light structures to custom parts.

If you're creating with metal, this is the space to test, shape, and fabricate your ideas.

What’s inside

Tools & Equipment:

Tools include smaller tools such as screwdrivers, chisels, tapping, drill bits and inserts, measuring, cutting, etc. as well as the following larger items:

  • Bridgeport Series 1 Knee Mill ( separate paid induction )

  • Metal Lathe ( separate paid induction )

  • Drill Press

  • Bandsaw

  • Welder MIG and TIG ( separate paid induction )

  • X-Tract Fume extractor

  • Disc Sander

  • Bench Grinder sander

  • Plasma Cutter ( separate paid induction )

  • Pneumatic tapping arm

All users are required to complete a metalwork induction and wear appropriate PPE.
