European Innovation & Funding Readiness Series

Tickets Here

The series will be led by Francesca Favia And Lucy Kebbell.

Francesca Favia

A sustainability and environmental strategist, leader in renewable energy, fashion and food sustainability, and EU-funded Projects expert.

Francesca currently works as an “EU Senior Expert” and has longstanding experience writing and evaluating EU proposals, including for the EIC and other EU funding programmes.

Why Francesca is a major asset:

  • She has direct evaluative experience, so can share what reviewers look for — not just theory, but “inside view.”

  • She has supported many EU-funding applications over years — as a consultant, evaluator and external assessor.

  • Her practical background spans multiple sectors and funding mechanisms, which helps her tailor advice to different types of participants (startups, SMEs, research teams, cross-border consortia).

Including her as lead offers credibility and tangible benefits for participants aiming to succeed with EU funding.

Lucy Kebbell

As founder of The WIP, Lucy regularly designs and delivers programmes and workshops around funding for sustainable businesses. She speaks on topics like grant readiness, equity investment, and the landscape of funding for underrepresented founders.

Lucy writes The WIPs weekly stack on Friday Funding Chats, and in 2026 is looking to convert this into a live format for events such as this.

Focus Areas

Topics we intend to cover in the sessions:

  • How to craft a high-impact EIC Accelerator proposal

  • Strategic differences: when to go for Horizon vs EIC vs Bio-Based Solutions

  • Cross-border consortium building, partnership matchmaking and consortium management

  • Pitch & presentation training, incorporating evaluator feedback simulation

  • Optional 1-2-1 mentoring time with the experts.
