Health Tech Hackathon - Goldsmiths & Blue Garage

​Location: Blue Garage, Lewisham

​Welcome to an innovative hackathon where you will get to build solutions to some key challenges in health tech, delivered in partnership by Goldsmiths, Blue Garage and Hacksmiths.

​With other students you will build solutions to a number of issues that were identified by senior NHS staff, health tech entrepreneurs & academics in a brainstorming session in May this year.

Why take part?

  • ​Real world solution development experience to put on your CVs

  • ​Make a real difference by contributing ideas to help solve issues in health tech

  • ​Network with health tech entrepreneurs who will be at the event

  • ​Design something that can be further developed through incubation and mentoring at Blue Garage and has the potential to become a real solution/product

  • ​Eat free pizza

Things we're looking for:

  • ​Insightful ideas. Solutions that directly tackle the issues identified in our previous brainstorm session (videos will be shared)

  • ​Human-centred ideas. Solutions targeted specifially at the core users, (NHS staff and patients)

  • ​Ideas that have commercial potential - an understanding of what the route to market might look like

Prizes:

  • ​£200 worth of vouchers to share between the winning team

  • ​Two funded places at Blue Garage from September (incubation and mentoring) for six months - all participants will be asked if they want to express an interest in this

How will it work:

  • ​participants will receive videos outlining the challenges in advance of the hackathon

  • ​recommended size of teams is 3 to 5 participants. We can help facilitate team formation on the day

  • ​this is an in-person only event and space is limited, so sign up now!

  • ​Intellectual property created at the hackathon is owned by the creator
